The reality is, Einstein is the least of our barriers to starflight.  By simply using the Newtonian Kinetic Energy equation we find the energies required for interstellar flight are so enormous that there is no practical way to build a rocket engine that can reach high fractions, 33% and faster, of light speed.  The solar sail and the magnetic sail do not suffer from this limitation, although some grand engineering is involved.  Allow for the relativistic correction of the Newtonian KE equation and energy demands increase but not unacceptably for starflight up to 66% or so...

At times I feel that Saturnian (as in Chronos) limitations apply to mankind, and that we are greedy to ask for too much even in fantasy, but truth is stranger than fiction.  There are mysteries in this Universe that we have yet to unravel, so there is no telling how far we will really go in space.  The marvelous universe of 
ORION's ARM is worth learning about. Live long and prosper.
